topic Optimizing Area Solar Radiation Tool Performance in ArcGIS Pro Questions

Hello,

I am using the Area Solar Radiation tool in ArcGIS Pro. My DSM layer files are large, and reducing their resolution introduces significant errors, so I cannot lower the resolution. To speed up the simulation, I have split the raster DSM layer file into several smaller sections, but the simulation still takes a long time.

Is there any other solution to speed up the simulations? I have also tried increasing the processing parallel factor, but it did not work; I believe ArcGIS Pro does not support parallel processing for this tool. Any recommendations?

Thank you.

area solar radiation is a deprecated tool and will be removed in a future release,

did you try the recommended tool to see if things are different?

Raster Solar Radiation (Spatial Analyst)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

it supports gpu and the parallel processing factor
