ArcGIS Pro Will Not Update Layer Symbology

I am editing a polygon layer in ArcGIS Pro 2.2 and I changed layer symbology to reflect a field in which there are two categories and it shows up fine in the contents panel but in the Create Features panel it does not reflect the correct symbology and gives me an error that says 'New Feature may not be visible. Missing symbol 'Type' (thats the field I'm editing) Template value for Layer symbology is incorrect..'. I have tried everything but now have to manually enter the attributes.

Also, is edge snapping in Pro available?

Finally, is there a setting to keep 'Get Unique Values' on so one doesn't have to click it each time to get the drop down in the Field when editing attributes?

I pretty much have all of these same questions and I am surprised that there have been no responses. I think I am going to create a new post as my need is specific to the 'Layer Symbology' issue.
