Print Tool Script Printing Incorrect Map Series

I have a custom tool script that would essentially print all selected areas from a grid (manually select the areas prior to running toolbox) and output to a certain path. The script use to work flawlessly (no changes have been made), but now the pdf is produced but no matter how many times I select a new area, the map will always produce the same .pdf (one map, script also runs without errors). I've checked my map name and map layout and they reflect what is appearing onto the .aprx. I have a theory that the map series may be corrupt?

@aecho2 , looks like case of corrupted map series...by any chance have to tried on other test data?

I attempted to use another layer in its place and still getting the same error. Is there a known resolution for this?

@aecho2 have you tried this in a new ArcGIS Pro Project?
