Selection Tool in Pro not working properly

The selection tool will not work correctly in ArcPro. When I try to select using the tool, nothing happens. I have rebuilt spatial index on file DB. I have tried on different DB's (including file and SDE). It will not work. However, if I select using the table, I can unselect using the tool. Makes no sense. I have the latest version of Pro (updated and tested before I posted this).

Starting with the simplest thing I can think of, have you checked your List By Selection settings to ensure that your layers are selectable?

Yes. All features are selectable.

this button was not checked by default after loading,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,seems odd. At least it is fixed. Thanks to Rishabh at ESRI Support

I've tried everything and I still can't select or identify anything from this GDB polygon dataset I have. It contains several hundred thousand features. I've concluded Pro just can't handle a dataset that large without bugs. The workaround is get rid of all unneeded features.

I am also having this problem. My issue seems to arise after running "Explode Multipart". If Explode is still the active edit tool and you try to select a singlepart feature, it will not select it regardless of if the layer is selectable and you have "create new selection" toggled.

Switching to a different tool such as Reshape or clicking the select button resolves it. It's just not very obvious since the last tool you used stays toggled on after you run it, but if you check the Modify Features pane you can see which editor tool is active.

Thank you Kelly! I've been trying to figure out what on earth is going on, saving my .aprx, closing and reopening after every explode! This will make it a lot quicker to just switch up the editing tool 🙂
