    <description>&lt;P&gt;Interesting.&amp;nbsp; So what I'm wondering if you have 2 layers in your map.&amp;nbsp; One for polygon geometry and one for point geometry.&amp;nbsp; Each layer has a scale dependency when it reaches a certain threshold it turns off the polygon layer and turns on the point layer.&amp;nbsp; It's not possible to have polgyon symbologies for a point and visa versa.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Polygon default symbology in a point layer</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a shapefile that my organization created before I started here. It is a point layer, but for some reason the default symbology has been set to unique values with polygon symbols. When I change the symbology method, the symbols go back to points, but when I switch fields in the unique values symbology the regenerated symbols still show up as polygons. Is there a way to remove this default symbology?
