I have a shapefile which has given me the geographic areas I am interested in. I want to add data so that I can show areas in different colours according to my data. I have the additional data in a CSV - it contains all the same columns and rows as the original shapefile plus two extra columns that have my data. I have uploaded the csv to my content but I can't find out how to connect them or to visualise the data. It sounds like you'll already have some common data between your two sources.
