Summarize Within

I regularly use the Summarize Within function but it is incredibly slow every time I do. I'm only doing this for one polygon at a time though the layer I'm summarizing is larger.

I feel like my computer specs are at a high level.

I've cleared the Cache in Options but this hasn't been enough.

Any ideas how I can speed this up?

are both layers in the same coordinate system?

What options are you using for the tool?

run the first link and see if it exceeds the recommended minimum (the minimum probably isn't good enough for complex geometry)

I've accepted how long it takes.

Not sure if upgrading to 3.1 will make a difference as we are currently running 2.7
