Publishing a Sharepoint Excel worksheet joined with an SDE Feature Class

Hi all.

I'm back using ArcGIS Pro after a LONG break and oh how things have changed.

I'm open to suggestion on how I should do this rather than the method I'm chasing here.

I access a SharePoint Excel file worksheet maintained by colleagues outside of the GIS group. I join the table with a simple parent/child key join which I can then symbolise based on a status column. It's at this stage where my process falls over. When sharing as a Web Layer to ArcGIS Portal, it fails when I run the analysis on it prior to publishing. I get an error code 00033 Standalone table's data source is not supported.

Am I on the right path or should I be doing something different; if so what's the best practice here?
