topic Adding Height Data to Point for Viewshed in ArcGIS Pro Questions

Hi, I want to know from where in the surrounding landscape a building would be visible. I am using viewshed (spatial analyst). I use 1.75m on surface offset to account for a human in each cell. However, I need to add the height of the point (building). Am I correct in thinking that I need to add a field OFFSETA to the attribute table so that the analysis can take account of the point/building height e.g. 6m? Or am I doing this wrong?!

many thanks

Hi,

Yes, for the Viewshed tool, you can add the OFFSETA attribute field to the input observer features for this purpose.

Alternatively, you can use the Geodesic Viewshed tool, for which the attribute field name can be anything (just specify it in the observer offset parameter).

Thanks.
