ArcPro - select by attributes returning all records when I type input into the expression

This is a new one for me. I’m trying to select by an annual mean wage by state. I’ve joined an excel table with a census feature layer and exported the joined layer to a .gdb, when I type input into the select by attributes table (for example, where annual mean wage is < or equal to my input), it returns all records. But when I use the numbers from the drop down that are actually within the field, it returns only the handful that I’m actually looking for. What am I doing wrong here?

Hi @lame153

Is it possible that you have some extra spaces and the like in your table? I could see that being a circumstance where the dropdown is doing a better job of accurately selecting than when typing out your query.
