symbol declustering

Hi community,

is there any option to decluster symbols? Suppose you should make an overview map from the USA and you have a few multiple points in different cities (for example LA and NY). Are there similar options for placing the symbols as they are for the labels (maplex engine)? I want to find a propper position that symbols doesn't overlap each other when the scale is more or less fixed?

why do you say this feature is retired? is it no longer supported? what is the alternative I can use?
