Replace Multipatch with 3ds Max model: Error Constructing the Replacement Multipatch for a Feature

Hello,

I want to use the Replace Multipatch tool to replace a building in a multipatch feature class, which I derived from LiDAR. I use FME to convert from SketchUp (.skp). I have used Replace Multipatch in the project successfully with SketchUp models converted to collada (.dae), but there are some missing geometries. I found that in 3ds Max format (viewed in FME Inspector), the SketchUp models retain their geometry, so I want to incorporate them into the scene as .3ds, rather than collada. However, I receive the message that there was an error constructing the replacement multipatch for the feature.

Any suggestions on why this may be occurring or solutions is much appreciated.

This is unfortunate. I'm having exactly the same problem and I promise you, it used to work beautifully.

I'm off to research and test more. We might have to report a bug.
