Hi, I am looking for a pure black and white mastermap map base. All I can find are greyscale, any ideas welcome!

Thanks

There are several from ArcGIS Online you can search for and add. Go to your Catalog Pane, click the Portal tab, click the cloud icon 5th from the left and search for "basemaps black white" One that I found that is good is the "Black and White basemap"

You can even edit vector tile basemaps to your own liking as well!

Certainly! This is in ArcGIS Pro - in my image below, I'm using the Catalog Pane. In the Catalog Pane, click Portal then you can see I'm clicking the 5th icon from the left (i.e. cloud) to get to ArcGIS Online. I searched for basemaps black white and found the Newspaper Basemap to be a good one to use too!
