Creating Features

My question is about creating new features and measuring. There are times I need to measure a length on a line (or pipe in this case) and at a certain footage, I need to create a line feature. But when I am using measure tool and then switch to create, the measured line disappears so now I do not know where to place the new line. Is there a way in Pro to measure a length and denote the end with a symbol? Or can I measure AND create a line at the same time? thanks!

If I understand your question, you would like to create a line feature at a specified length and direction. Have a look at the Direction/Distance command available after selecting the first vertex and a right click. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/specify-a-direction-and-distance.htm

Along with @CarlMorrison said, you may also consider using the Trace tool to trace along another line for a specified distance.
