Raster/Shapefile Misalignment

Hi all,

I created a buffer shapefile for a stream network, and spent time manually editing the buffers around lakes to ensure that the buffer aligned with the edges of the lake (using a land-cover map raster).

When I reopened the project today and loaded the adjusted shapefile I found that is it now misaligned by about 7 metres - it almost appears to have shifted since I last had it on the map.

Not sure what's going on here - any suggestions?

Are both layers in the same coordinate system?

Yes, they are. I double checked to make sure of that.

Why are your cells slanted? Looks like you have your map frame/project in another projection and the data is being reprojected.
