Hi Everyone,

Does the projected coordinate system NAD1983 UTM zone 15N preserve distance and area accurately for features located with UTM 15N? Thanks.

Best regards,

Lucas

yes... general scale factor is 0.9996 (I am assuming you know about map projections).

If you want a slightly better one check for state plane (U.S.) or MTM (modified transverse mercator used in Canada)

MTM notes (leware.net)

scale factor is 0.9999

I use it generally (ontario) instead of UTM 18)

Run a few calculations, and if you are concerned, you can used geodesic calculations for geometry properties in esri's

Calculate Geometry Attributes (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
