Graphics or lack there of...

I am trying to figure out how to create a graphic, something that was so much easier to do in so much better ArcMap. There is no Add Graphic function in the Layer tab and I can't seem to find a way to add that. It would be great if Pro was actually better than ArcMap, but it is such a pain in butt to use.

With a Map View in focus

Map tab -> Layer group -> click Add Graphics Layer (as noted above)
With focus set to Graphics Layer in the Contents pane -> click the Graphics tab -> Insert group -> expand the list of graphic choices -> pick one and sketch.

A map graphic can be converted to a feature using GP Tool - Graphics to Features.

With a Layout View in focus

Insert tab -> Graphic and Text group -> choose the graphic element type and sketch.

The instruction

With focus set to Graphics Layer in the Contents pane -> click the Graphics tab -> Insert group -> expand the list of graphic choices -> pick one and sketch.

A Graphics tab does not appear for me with focus set to Graphics Layer in the Content pane.

Can you provide some screenshots of what this is supposed to look like?

Looks the same in Pro 2.9.3 and 3.0.2. Can't vouch for earlier releases.

All,

A graphics layer is required to add graphic elements (shapes, text, pictures) to a map. Without a graphics layer you will not get the Graphics tab as shown in the nice screenshot provided by @AngelaSchirck - thanks Angela!

You add a graphics layer to the map by clicking the Add Graphics Layer button under the Layer group on the Map tab ribbon.
