Pro project template handles most of the things we need which is fantastic (standard layouts, style files, multiple maps). The only issue is we have a whole spatial data warehouse with multiple geodatabases that are routinely updated and have added six vector layers to create a base map on one of the maps in the Pro Project template .aprx.
