So, I have two shapefiles one consists of 32 large polygons (neighbourhoods), and another shapefile contains 283 smaller polygons (Dissamineation areas). I want to associate the neighbourhood names to the DA shapefile. I have a lot of DAs which are intersecting many neighbourhoods, so is there a way to join DA's where the majority of the DA polygon is in the neighbourhood. I tried using Spatial Join with the match option set to 'have their centre in' but was unsuccessful. I was only able to retrieve 24/32 neighbourhoods.

Spatial Join is correct tool.

Target features should be the DA polygons

Join features should be your Neighbourhoods polygons

Join operation should be "One to one"

Match option should be "Largest overlap"
