Errors running model builder in ArcGIS Pro

Trying to use model builder for the first time and I am not able to implement a basic Feature Class to Feature Class. I am trying to take a dataset and use Feature Class to Feature Class to rename the columns then view the resulting dataset.

There are no problems validating model, but when I click run I have gotten the following two errors:

I got the errors on the first run but now I am also getting a warning on the input saying that these layers have been created.

My project is saved on a shared dropbox folder, but I am confident that nobody else is trying to access the files. What should I be doing differently?

save the project to a local disk and set your environments to overwriteOutput as True

I have done that and still running into errors- now it is the following:

ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail. Contact Esri Technical Support (http://esriurl.com/support) to Report a Bug, and refer to the error help for potential solutions or workarounds.
The operation was attempted on an empty geometry.

The input feature classes are definitely not empty.

What is the best way to trouble-shoot this?

Finally managed to make this work by changing the output file names. Are there restrictions/limits on output file names?
