Unable to connect to SQL Server

I'm using ArcGIS Pro v2.9.2

I haven't been able to create a SQL Server database connection since I upgraded to v2.9 from v2.8.

I've tried installing Microsoft OBDC drivers 17; then now I installed version 18 and still it gives me the flag that I'm trying to connect to an older version of SQL Server client communications software that is not supported.

I have two SQL Server instances I need to connect to: SQL Server 2016 and SQL Server 2014.

What versions do I need to address both instances? Where do I download them?

Appreciate any help finding the correct versions and a link to download them from.

Yep. We can't move beyond Pro 2.6 because of this very issue.

...Getting our Admin to OK a server update has proven difficult.

We've a different SQL Server version, but This Post was the most helpful in determining our current setup.

This is ridiculous. I upgraded to v2.9 because I'm doing deep learning analysis using Image Analyst. But if the price of upgrading is losing connections to existing SQL Server databases we need, where does leave us?

Why did it work before and now no more? I hope there is a solution because I can't do anything if I can't connect to my sources.

Thanks for letting me know this is actually an existing problem. I thought I'm doing something wrong.

Hi there. ArcGIS Pro 2.9.x supports connections to SQL Server 2019, 2017, and 2016 through ODBC Drivers 17, 13, and 13.1 as stated in this documentation.

I just deleted MS OBDC Driver 18 and re-installed MS OBDC Driver 17 and I still can't connect to SQL Server 2016 and 2014. I get the same error

After the uninstall / reinstall, did you restart the ArcGIS Pro client (close / open)?

If so, did you try to reboot the machine then test the connection?

I have seen some weirdness with the drivers and a reboot was the only thing that helped.

The error above seems more of a MS error than Pro related......

How about that? I restarted and tested my connection to make sure I can remotely connect to the server. It worked!

You don't know how many times I've rebooted this computer. I guess because I did a "clean" install of the OBDC driver again, it somehow worked this time around.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was about to give up on this.
