Error: an invalid sql is used

I processed a feature class in FME to merge a table and exported it back to the feature class. Now, for some reason, I keep getting the error "An invalid SQL is used" when trying to open the attribute table. I checked for any invalid characters and spaces in the fields, file names, etc, and I couldn't find any error. However, when I open the same feature class in QGIS, I am able to open the attribute table.

When you "exported it back to the feature class", what does that mean? Have you overwritten the original layer, or simply applied edits to the existing layer?

Created a new layer, that didn't disturb the original one.
