They don't seem to export as as they appear in the layout view. I have this problem regardless of the north arrow I choose and regardless of the file type to which I export my map. I've attached 2 screenshots below: the first is of how it shows up in Layout View prior to exporting and the second is the exported map. I've manually drawn in the red circles over the screenshot.
