We had a similar issue this week. One of the layers had z-values enabled while the rest did not. The layer with z-values only had one feature so we removed it and successfully published.

We are getting a vary vague error for publishing. This was working and we have not changed or updated anything. Now getting error message failed to publish web layer. No one can publish, we all get this error. Any ideas on what we can check? We did try to republish data we have already published so its not the data or formatting.

When checking the Enterprise, it publishes the service definition fine. But it fails on the layer.

ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 and ArcPRO 2.8

Thank you,

Annette

We see this from time to time. Are you overwriting a layer? That's when we see this message the most. If not, what is the source of the data? We have also seen cases when a query layer was being published and there was a slight problem in the query statement that was not flagged prior to publishing, but which prevented the layer being published.

It works now. Very strange.
