topic Setting and testing a 3D feature class as a hard boundary between other 3D features surfaces in ArcGIS Pro Questions

I have 3D Fault data in a Local Scene in the form of polygon panels extending down into the subsurface and I am trying to find a method to have them (and/or a multipatch version) act as a hard boundary between stratigraphic surfaces underground like a real fault would. I have tried the Spline with Barriers tool with no success, and I am uncertain about what other tools are even available to achieve/test this.

I added a multipatch stratigraphic surface that intersects the fault panel underground and they simply pass through each other (tried with a polygon panel and a multipatch panel), so I am led to believe it is not already acting as a hard boundary here.

Any ideas and solutions are greatly appreciated.
