topic using polygon symbology or style for 3d multipatch in ArcGIS Pro Questions

Hi,

so i have a very detailed symbology for polygon features in a 2d geological map.

i have created a 3D multipatch from a TIN and these polygons, so i can show our map in 3d. this feature has the same attribute field that is used to control the symbology in the 2d polygon feature class.

i cannot however apply this symbology using a .lyrx or stylx to the multipatch despite the attribute field being the same.

why is this?

how can i convert a symbology (as either lyrx or stylx to one suitable for a 3D mesh without spending half a day rebuilding this from scratch?

most of the polygon fills are solid colours, so all i want to do is have these features coloured using the codes assigned to the attribute!! why can arcgis pro not handle this? is there a tool i cannot find that does this?

thanks

nigel
