Clip layers in map properties export issue

Hello,

I am clipping to the outline of a ward boundary for the map I am creating. I am using the clip layers in the map properties. I set my border symbol to a blue color and a 5 pt size. The border displays on the actual map and it also displays in the map layout. However, when I export the map to a PDF, the border symbol does not show up.

Is there a way that I can get the border symbol to display in the export?

A workaround: You can use the same symbology for the polygon outline used for Layer Clip (Blue; 5 pts) with transparent fill, if required. This will ensure the outline is also printed as desired.
