topic Is there a way to set SQL mode as the default for a definition query? in ArcGIS Pro Questions

I basically always prefer to use SQL instead of the query builder when creating/modifying a layer's definition query, but as far as I can tell, there is no setting in the ArcGIS Pro options to turn off the query builder and make SQL the default. That means that it takes 2 mouse clicks to switch to SQL mode:

1. Click 'Edit'.

2. Click the SQL slider.

It would be great if clicking 'Definition Query' in the layer properties would open the SQL pane with no extra clicks. Am I missing the setting for this?

In ArcGIS Pro 3.5, this is now an optional project setting! On the Project tab -> Map and Scene Tab -> Query Builder category, for the Default query builder mode, you can set it to SQL Editor Mode. Then your default mode is to write SQL!
