Extract profile xy data to excel

I have a 3d line created with "interpolate to line" and a DEM as the raster surface. I can view the profile graph for this line but I want to extract the xyz values to excel for further analysis. The export tool in the graph only allows me to export to an image. I can see the graph has the data that I want: the the x axis is the distance along the line calculated from the xy values and the y axis represents the elevation values for each time the line passes through a different grid cell, but I cannot figure out how to export the xyz to csv or whatever so I can create the graph in excel.
