Hi @BrandonVan_Horn

If the field names match, then I wouldn't expect to have to set up Field Mapping - and so far, I can't reproduce problem in 2.7.

One thing I don't understand about your screenshot: FLD_ZONE has a value of "D" in the table on the left and "A" in the table on the right. If the software was ignoring the "Keep source attribute values checkbox", I would expect null values in the right table (the target), not "A" So the mystery to me is where did the "A" come from?

One idea: Could it have came from an expression set up in the Field Mapping? I tried to replicate the schema you have and this is the expression that is automatically generated for me (note that I am on the Expression tab of the Field Mapping settings):

What does the expression look like for you?

Thanks,

Scott

Oh, I see now from the GIF, you have subtypes on the target layer and that could be where the "A" came from. Hmm...

In the template if I change that value it always puts the template value in it. For instance I used A as a template then copy and pasted multiple features they were all A, I then changed the template to AE, which is what is in the gif and it pasted it and the values were AE.

Thank you for looking into this. While it is a work around as long as you are only copying one type of feature, but if you are coping multiple features, it does not work. Especially when the values of multiple fields are important. I appreciate the prompt reply though! Thank you. I will be patiently waiting for the next release. Thanks for reporting it. Regarding the workaround: I'm not seeing where attributes of multiple features are lost when pasting into a template. In the GIF below, I'm pasting multiple selected features from 3 different layers into a template. The subtype is correctly assigned (based on the chosen template) and a different field (driving the labels) maintains the original attributes.

Is there something different about your workflow?

Same workflow, and yours is only keeping the template, of the AA. So it does not keep the field value in the type of field.

I have 3 fields with Domains on them. When I copy the values are null. Attached is my table schema. I am using Fld_Zone, and Zone_Subty as my symbology layer. When I copy all of the fields that are not Fld_Zone are null.

Has there been any movement on this? I am experiencing the same issue. It used to work fine in 2.7, I then upgraded to 2.9, but was having issue with the Split tool, so have downgraded to 2.8 and now the paste special is not bringing all the attributes from the source feature. It will bring some of them to the new feature, but not all.

It sounds like there is something else going on in your scenario. It's hard to tell without more information. FYI Esri Support is the best place to report and track bugs - especially when issues are highly data (schema) and workflow specific.

Thanks for the response and info Scott. I've determined the issue. I am copying/paste special from/to hosted feature services. I had changed the editability on the source layer. If a field is not editable, it will not copy/paste special to the target layer. This is not ideal. I don't feel that the ability to edit should have anything to do with copy/pasting attributes. See below - if Editable is set to "No", it will not copy/paste special.

I assume you mean you are pasting from one layer to another and the source layer has some fields that are marked as non editable but you want to preserve those attributes in the target layer, which has the same attributes that are marked as editable. Is that correct or is the scenario different in some way?
