How to add excel spreadsheet into a shapefile in arcgis pro?

How to add excel spreadsheet into a shapefile in arcgis pro? I tried the "Add" function, but the result is "Null". For example, I have the population for each country excel spreedsheet, I also have world country shapefile, how to add the population to the country shapefile so I can show in the map?

Hi Ke Wang ,

I'm going to share a couple of links that should help you understand the steps:

First of all understand how to use Excel files in ArcGIS Pro: Work with Microsoft Excel files in ArcGIS Pro—Excel | ArcGIS Desktop
You can convert the Excel file to a table using the tool: Excel To Table—Conversion toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop
You will need to join the Excel population data to the country polygons. This can be done with a Join: Join Field—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop . It is important that you have fields in both the table and the featureclass that will match (an unique id or the county name, make sure they match exactly).

After these step you will have enriched your country featureclass with the population from the Excel file.
