    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I wonder if there is a way to set the default extent for new maps.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you start a new map with a default&amp;nbsp;basemap that is different from the World topographic map (by setting this in the Map and Scene part of the Options page),&amp;nbsp;the new map seems to open with the extent of the world topographic map as the default extent. Once you add your first layer to a map, the map seems to zoom to the extent of that layer, which is ok.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.3.1.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Joris Frenkel, Staatsbosbeheer, the Netherlands&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
