Align Text With Box

I have text that I wish to align with a red box in ArcGIS Pro 2.4.3. In the past, the workflow was to select the two items and chose "Align Left." However, there is a small gap between the text and the related selection box... that limits the ability to properly align the items. In the image below, there is a small gap between the "O" and the selection box to the left.

To highlight this gap, I have indicated the gap using the two blue arrows below:

What controls this gap and can I remove it? One more thing... all of the items are aligned to the left.

I do not think this is out of the ordinary. It happens in ArcMap too, so I am not sure what you mean about "In the past". The same behavior happens in any other programs I tried too. Certain letters will do what you want, like uppercase T. I even tried monospaced font and it still acts this way. I am not sure the naked eye will see the difference.
