buffer not working

So i have a group of XY data that i select in the buffer tool and put in 200 ft but when i hit the buffer button nothing happens. No buffers are drawn and the tool acts like nothing is happening. Any ideas?

Is it a featureclass? or just a table of data?

Does it have a defined coordinate system? and are the units in feet?

Perhaps some details or visuals. Sounds like buffer doesn't like the input

Was the XY data just created? If so you will probably need to save your edits before running the tool. Also I find I need to sometimes simply close and reopen to get a tool to work after I had been doing a lot of different things in Pro.

as far as i can tell it has coordinates. Its a feature class built from XY data table.

saving does not help pushing the buffer button at the bottom does nothing like before. I really wish if there was an error it was displayed. I get no feedback as if I have pressed nothing.

Hi Jonathan,

From your screenshot, it doesn't look like you have a feature template to work with. Do you have an editable feature class in your map (lines or polygons)? When you do, try choosing the one of their templates in the drop-down in the Buffer tool.
