Pasting Records Into Different Annotation Classes

I have a new annotation layer with predefined annotation classes (Plat_200, screenshot attached). I am copying records from an existing annotation layer (Lot_Text_Map )into this new annotation layer. Specifically, I select several records at a time from the existing layer, copy and paste special into a specific annotation class in the new layer (example screenshot attached, parcel labels into Parcel Tract anno class). However, regardless of which annotation class I paste special the records into, they all come in as Block annotation class (attribute table screenshot attached). What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

In the Paste Special dialog, is the 'Keep source attribute values' option checked or unchecked?
