Ahh yes, I wasn't sure if these were different datasets. What version of ArcGIS Pro/ which rendering engine are you using (Settings >Display) ? It might be worth switching Open GL to Direct X12 if that's an option.

I am classifying a large number of .las Lidar data. A seemingly random selection of these files give the error 'Layer's renderer could not be opened.' when attempting to symbolise by classification.

The lidar points can still be seen when symbolising by Elevation, however they are all shown as one colour so clearly are not being symbolised correctly.

I cannot find any details or fixes to this issue so am making this post to see if anyone else has had the same issue and managed to find a fix.

Does this occur when you change the symbology to Elevation rather than Classification?

When I change the symbology to Elevation the lidar points appear but they are all one colour so clearly not being properly symbolised by elevation. The screenshot 'Symbolise_by_Elevation' I attached to the original post shows this

I would be interested to see to see what the LAS file properties show, can you provide a screen shot...? Catalog Pane > properties > statistics

cheers

I was using DirectX 12. Have tried DirectX 11 and Open GL and the problem still persists with both of them.

Please find screenshots of the statistics of a LAS file is giving the error and a LAS file that is symbolising correctly. Thanks
