idea Native support for USB GPS devices in ArcGIS Pro Ideas

We use ArcGIS Desktop and have recently purchase a Garmin eTrex30 portable GPS device to record waypoints when out on site. I am amazed that ArcGIS does not support a USB device but requires a COM port connection. None of our company's computers have had a COM port for about the last 5 years. When I queried ESRI UK I was told to google for a suitable virtual COM driver for my system - not much help there really! Come on ESRI - catch up please! We haven't had COM ports for years - these devices should be supported natively.

The AK DNR DMLW reports the same problem-- they use laptops without serial ports and need USB support.
