Distribute a more comprehensive traffic symbology set than is found in the ESRI transportation font.

In the USA every state relys on some form of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for their traffic sign symbology. These include local, county, and state governments. All of these agencies are under a federal mandate to generate inventories of their signs, obviously GIS is the most effective means to achieve this ( http://safety.fhwa.dot.gov/roadway_dept/night_visib/retrotoolkit/pdfs/AB08H243-2Ellison.pdf).

It would be great if Esri would acknowledge this need and maybe go a few steps further and:

Provide state MUTCD symbols, e.g. MUTCD(CA)

Provided FHWA type faces: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FHWA_Series_fonts

Provide MUTCD standard road pavement marking symbols and line types

With regard to "road pavement markings" I am personally less concerned with line types for lanelines and such and more concerned with symbols for pavement legends (i.e. STOP, turn arrows, RxR, etc)

I need to clarify that this request is for a more exhaustive sign symbology set, meaning for example, with speed limit signs include a 10, 15, 20, 25, 32, 45, 55, 65, 70 MPH symbols.

I also share this need (greatly) and an increased list of MUTCD symbols along with a searchable MUTCD codes are needed. there are three components needed when applying the use of these... 1) symbol (symbol of STOP sign), 2) Desctption (the word STOP) & 3) the MUTCD code (R1-1). Myny you do have in the transportation set (a few hundred) , but many you do not ( there are approximately 1500 in the federal list)

Yeah, and include these symbols as transportation styles in ArcGIS Pro. Need regulatory signs, warning signs, Emergency Notification Blue signs, Private street and private rail crossing signs.

A comprehensive set of MUTCD styles would be incredibly useful. I would think any DOT, MPO, or local government with a Public Works or Engineering department would benefit from having this made available. That's a huge audience.
