This option would be soooo nice to have. I have a python script that applies a single symbology from a layer file to multiple layers in the TOC. This would be especially helpful in arc scene.

Yes it would be very nice to be able to use Arcpy.mapping with ArcScene (.sxd) documents.

I want to make an animated gif of 107 years of data using 3D visualization in ArcScene. I generated the 107 grid layers with arcpy, ArcMAP and Spatial Analyst -- took just over a day, but completely unattended. It should be trivial to render the layers and dump them out so that I can stitch them together into an animated gif -- but without scripting ability, I am looking days of tedium.

Hi @DrewThompson2 ,

ArcGIS Desktop, which includes ArcScene, is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application.

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas. We truly appreciate your contributions to continuously improving the software to help you do your work and look forward to what ideas you have for ArcGIS Pro.
