idea Remove Hyperlink option for Layout Text in ArcGIS Pro Ideas

Recently learned that in ArcGIS Pro 3.5.2 when you type out a url in a layout text element, Pro will automatically: make it a link, change the color to blue, and underline. Of course this is standard practice for links and ESRI does have a documented workaround here (https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-apply-different-colors-to-hyperlinked-text-in-ar-000033031), but it is still nuisance that there is not a simple way to remove the hyperlink especially since the documented workflow did not work for me.

So my idea is that ESRI provide a "Remove Hyperlink" option when you right click on the text element like most text editors out there.

Hi!

If you right click with your cursor within the hyperlink you get a text only context menu that includes a Hyperlink option. This opens the hyperlink editor and you can click on the X to remove the hyperlink altogether.

Cheers,

Aubri

What version is that live in? I just checked 3.6.1 and didn't see it.

I was testing in 3.7, but it was implemented with the original hyperlinks, so you should see it. You do have to have your cursor within the hyperlink. Otherwise you get the element context menu which is generic and doesn't include the hyperlink functionality.

I always edit text in the element pane, so I would have never found that. Also the tag I needed I guess was <NOLINK>, which I couldn't figure out either.

Ex: <NOLINK>https://threeriversparks.link/TurtleFestEvent </NOLINK>

Wow, I totally would've missed that dialog, too. Most of the time, I lock all the elements in my layouts so they don't accidentally move, and I access them through the Contents and Element Panes, so I wouldn't have been right-clicking on anything.
