The Las Dataset 3D view tool could be used to view either an open profile in 3D or the extent of the screen in 3D. These tools were simple, functional, and could be accessed from the regular (2D) map view of the las dataset.</P><P>ArcGIS Pro currently requires a 3D scene to use a profile tool on a las dataset and doesn't work nearly as well. The 3D controls are hard to navigate, the points often won't draw at all or only partially draw in the scene, you have to pre-set the width of the profile instead of setting it as you draw, and if you navigate too quickly the entire profile flies offscreen.
