Idea

Registered database views in Enterprise Geodatabases do not expose:

Coded value domain descriptions
Subtype descriptions
Field aliases

Only raw codes are returned.

This limits usability in ArcGIS Pro, Feature Services, and ArcGIS Hub, and forces administrators to build SQL workarounds or duplicate datasets.

Proposed

Allow registered views to inherit or assign:

Domains
Subtypes
Field aliases

Database views are a core enterprise workflow and should fully support geodatabase metadata.

This enhancement would remove a major friction point in enterprise GIS workflows.

Database views are essential for data governance, abstraction, and secure publishing. Yet today, we must choose between clean database architecture (using views) and full geodatabase functionality (domains, aliases, subtypes).

Supporting metadata in registered views would eliminate unnecessary SQL hacks, reduce dataset duplication, and significantly improve publishing to Feature Services and Hub.

This would be a high-impact improvement for enterprise environments.
