They are proving to be very helpful. I would like to suggest an enhancement, though. My biggest issue with the panes is that I typically use a laptop plus 2 monitors. I have the map/layout view on the main monitor and then all the "other" panes undocked on a different monitor. I do have to use just the laptop occasionally. When I go from multiple monitors to one small screen, I close/dock/collapse the panes to get more real estate. Then when I'm back in the office, I have to pin them all and drag them back out.
