Idea: Enable a 'select unique' option when creating a spatial map series similar to existing option for Dynamic Text for feature attributes.

Case: I have a spatial map series showing the landholdings of two unique landowners, each of whom has multiple parcels with unique parcel IDs. When creating a spatial map series based on landowner names, a separate page is created for each parcel (not what I need!). While I can achieve the result I want by creating a map series with bookmarks, this is an extra step.

Edit: The reason using the Bookmark option is not a solution is that it does not respect scale-- even if I manually reset the scale to the desired setting, it will be ignored on export.

Have you considered creating a new index layer for the Map Series by doing a dissolve of your parcel data by landowner? It's not ideal, and I think your Idea has merit, but it may work better than the Bookmark option (it's how I drive some of our Map Series). The index layer doesn't need to be visible in the map.
