Indicate that domain name is too long

The character limit for a domain name seems to be 255 characters, based on testing. In a file geodatabase, when the 256th character is entered, the software simply removes it and only uses the first 255 characters.

Rather than silently truncating, I’m wondering if Pro could tell us that the domain name is too long when entering it.

@Bud I feel that the idea should cover a change in workflow rather than wanting such long Domain Names.
It might just be easier to employ a project controls specialist and have them develop a WBS code structure to be used as Domain Names......... /insert appropriately scary emoji, maybe a clown holding a gantt chart/

All jokes aside, I guess if domain use is fully programmatical than the UI limitations of using such long names do not come into it as much.

Upvoted more to bring about associated UI improvements rather than the core idea itself.
