Docking panes so they don't hide key controls

Please can ArcGIS Pro be configured so that panes docked to the right hand side do not cover up helpful information and controls e.g. processing, selected feature count, pause and refresh?

When I dock a pane to the right, it first docks nicely, with this information not hidden:

However, if I then hide the pane and open it again with the pin button, it comes in over this key information and functions:

Regrettably, I find this really frustrating and it slows me down in my work.

For reference, I am using ArcGIS Pro 3.4.0.

Thank you very much for your kind consideration. I am open to being advised if this is user error or a user configuration issue - there is so much to learn with Pro!
