Add Back & Forward Navigation Buttons to ArcCatalog

It would be nice to have navigation buttons similar to Windows Explorer or web browsers' BACK and FORWARD buttons to jump to previous folders or directories.

Being able to click on any section of the file path and have it go to that folder would be nice too. (Like on windows 7)

ArcGIS Desktop is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application.
