idea Transpose Field Tool Enhancement in ArcGIS Pro Ideas

Hello all,

Hope all is well 😊 the "Transpose Field" is such a handy dandy tool, however I think it can use a little enhancement 😊.

The tool should have a checkable option below output table for the user to select whether they want a tabular or vector feature class output. This can help save quite a bit of time. Like today when I ran the tool, it returned a table (event though the input was a polygon feature class). Now, to change table back to poly I had to use some more tools. So the checkable output type (table, vector) option can really help here.

Second of all since the values can either be categorical or continous and in the case of categorical it can either be text or numeric. So a checkable option for datatype should be availble under the "Value" field argument/parameter. This way the user can select what data type suits their use case. Like right now the default data type of the Value field is "text" which was not good in my case since I wanted to symbolize the Value field as a Choropleth. So I had to duplicate the Value field to numeric using the "Calculate Field" tool.

Cheers

Re: Transpose Field Tool Enhancement - Status changed to: Under Consideration

Hello @Ed_ , on your first point, you can specify the Shape field in the Attribute fields parameter to get an output feature class when you run the tool.

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/transpose-fields.htm

But overall, these are really interesting ideas that we could consider for a future release. However, for future idea submissions, please keep in mind that each submission should only contain one idea at a time: https://community.esri.com/t5/community-help-documents/arcgis-ideas-submission-guidelines-and-statuses/ta-p/904874

Thanks!
