Duplicate Layout

BLUF: Add Duplicate Layout As-is (i.e. with custom sizing), to the Duplicate Layout top menu option.

Currently, one can duplicate the Layout, but must choose a size from ANSI, Architectural, or ISO options. Most of my clients live in PowerPoint land so I need to be able to, quickly, export graphics into Microsoft products. The process now works, just make a new layout and choose custom size, but since the "Duplicate Layout" option already exists, how about just a literal duplicate of the layout?

@WalkerKB There is a ready-made Add-In from the Esri SDK community samples

I cannot attach .esriAddinX files here. So you'll have to download VB Studio, clone the github repository in VB, then run the DuplicateLayout.sln file to generate the file yourself.

I see the option in the catalog pane, Thank you for posting that. Yes that gets the job done. It just seems weird that you can do that in Catalog, but not in the Layout Top Pane Layout>Duplicate Layout. Seems like it would just be easy add "Duplicate Layout" and not just ANSI, Architecture, or ISO size options.

I just had this come up with a user today. It worked okay to teach them to use the duplicate options from the Catalog Pane, but it is confusing to users when there are two places to duplicate a layout and the options aren't consistent.

Here's a mockup for an enhanced Duplicate Layout tool on the Layout menu. The idea would be to add a "From Layouts" list that reads your current list of layouts in your project. Since the menu is already pretty long this mockup uses submenus so when you click or hover over a size category you can see the options under that category listed.

If I'm understanding the graphic correctly, your proposal is to add a "from layouts" in this table:

I think that would probably work for me. A literal, "duplicate layout" is what I was looking for, but this would certainly fit my needs.

That's correct, though adding a from current layout option wouldn't hurt either and could accomplish your one-click desire to duplicate the current layout. For projects with multiple layouts it would be nice to access them from the Duplicate Layout menu too, so maybe a win-win?
