Display layer ID in feature layer properties

It's my limited understanding that Contents layers have a layer ID that is accessible via ArcPy.

When developing Python tools, it would be helpful to be able to see the layer ID in the feature layer's Catalog properties window for debugging purposes.

Already offered via Copy Path command from Map ribbon tab

I tried this (and want to do this) but I don't get an id. I get something like "CIMPATH=map/sdg_sign2.json". Help!

CIMPATH=map/sdg_sign2.json is the unique identifier of your layer.
